Sahara Desert, Africa

Our first stop takes us to the largest hot desert in the world- the Sahara Desert. Spanning over 3.6 million square miles, this desert covers most of Northern Africa and is home to a diverse range of cultures and landscapes. As an adventurer, there is no shortage of activities to indulge in here.

One of the most popular activities is camel trekking, which allows you to immerse yourself in the desert landscape and experience the traditional way of traveling through the desert. You can also go on a 4×4 safari, where you can witness the stunning sand dunes and spot wildlife such as gazelles, oryx, and even the elusive desert fox.

For the more daring adventurers, sandboarding is a must-try activity in the Sahara. With endless sand dunes to choose from, you can slide down at top speeds and feel the rush of adrenaline. And if you’re a stargazer, the Sahara Desert offers some of the most spectacular views of the night sky, with little to no light pollution.

Namib Desert, Namibia

Located along the Atlantic coast of Namibia, the Namib Desert is known for its striking red sand dunes, which are some of the highest in the world. This desert is also home to some unique and fascinating species, such as the Welwitschia plant, which can live for over 2,000 years!

One of the highlights of visiting the Namib Desert is a hot air balloon ride over the dunes. As you float above the vast landscape, you’ll get a bird’s eye view of the desert and its stunning colors. Another must-visit spot is Sossusvlei, a salt and clay pan surrounded by towering red dunes. It’s the perfect spot to watch the sunrise or sunset and capture some breathtaking photos.

If you’re up for a challenge, hiking up Dune 45 is a must-do activity. This 170-meter high dune offers a challenging but rewarding climb, with stunning views of the surrounding desert once you reach the top. And for a unique experience, you can also go on a quad biking tour, where you can zoom through the dunes and feel the thrill of the desert.

Atacama Desert, Chile

Welcome to the driest non-polar desert in the world- the Atacama Desert in Chile. With its otherworldly landscapes and unique flora and fauna, this desert is a playground for adventurers. From hiking to stargazing, there’s something for everyone here.

One of the top activities in the Atacama Desert is visiting the El Tatio geysers. This geothermal field is home to over 80 geysers, making it the largest geyser field in the southern hemisphere. Here you can witness the steamy geysers erupting against the backdrop of the Andes mountains.

Another must-visit spot in the Atacama Desert is Valle de la Luna (Moon Valley). This surreal landscape is reminiscent of the moon’s surface, with its rocky formations and sand dunes. You can explore this area on foot or by bike, and catch the stunning views of the sunset.

Thar Desert, India

Located in the northwest region of India, the Thar Desert is the perfect destination for adventurers looking for a cultural experience. This desert is also known as the “Great Indian Desert” and is home to a vibrant culture and stunning landscapes.
