Start your day by exploring some of the city’s most famous landmarks. The ancient ruins of Teotihuacan are a must-see, and you can also check out the huge Pyramid of the Sun while you’re there. For something a little different, head to the Chapultepec Castle, which was once home to Mexican emperors.

After working up an appetite, treat yourself to some authentic Mexican cuisine. There are plenty of great restaurants to choose from, such as El Cardenal near the Metropolitan Cathedral. Make sure you also try traditional dishes like tacos al pastor and enchiladas.

In the afternoon, take a stroll through one of Mexico City’s many parks or visit one of its museums. The National Museum of Anthropology is definitely worth a visit, and so are the Palace of Fine Arts or the Franz Mayer Museum.
